For any appointment at Heart & Lung Physio, please remember to bring your medicare card and/or private health insurance card, any medical reports, scan or test results, a list of your current medications and any other relevant documents that you haven’t already sent to us.

Additionally, if you regularly use any devices for airway clearance, please bring them with you. It’s also a good idea to wear comfortable clothes, such as a light t-shirt, shorts or joggers, and runners/trainers, to ensure you’re ready for any assessments, including exercise tests.

By being prepared with these items, you can make the most of your appointment and help us provide you with the best possible care, regardless of the type of appointment you have scheduled.

The number of sessions you will need depends on various factors, including your specific condition, severity of your symptoms, treatment goals, and your response to therapy. Following a comprehensive assessment, we will work with you to create a personalised treatment plan and can provide an estimate of the number of sessions required. In some cases, a few sessions may be sufficient for improvement, while in others, a more extended treatment plan may be necessary for long-term management or recovery. Regular assessments of your progress will help determine the appropriate duration of your treatment.

Yes, at Heart & Lung Physio, we offer the flexibility to have some sessions face-to-face in your home and others via telehealth. We will work with you to determine the most suitable approach for your specific needs, ensuring you receive the care and support that best aligns with your preferences and situation.

To claim a Medicare rebate at Heart & Lung Physio, you’ll need both a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan and a referral from your GP (General Practitioner). Please get in touch with your GP to discuss your health condition and determine your eligibility for a CDM plan.

If deemed suitable, your GP will collaborate with you to create a CDM Plan and provide a referral for physiotherapy at Heart & Lung Physio. You may claim a Medicare rebate on up to 5 allied health sessions per calendar year. The current rebate provided by Medicare is $58.00 per session.

We have facilities available that allow you to pay for your appointment and claim your Medicare rebate right after your appointment. Please remember to bring your referral and your Medicare card along to your appointment.

Yes, you can use your private health insurance for physiotherapy services at Heart & Lung Physio. We have HiCaps facilities available, allowing you to claim your private health insurance rebate right after your appointment. The exact refund amount depends on the level of your coverage, which can range from 30% to 90% of the consultation cost. To get precise information about your coverage and the rebate you’re eligible for, please contact your health insurance provider. Please remember to bring your private health insurance card along to your appointment.

We understand that circumstances can change, and you may need to adjust your appointment. At Heart & Lung Physio, we have a 48-hour cancellation policy in place. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we kindly request that you contact us as soon as possible. This allows us to accommodate other patients who may be in need of our services. If you reschedule or cancel your appointment with less than 48 hours’ notice, you may incur a charge. Please review our Cancellation Policy for more details and any associated fees.
